They make loans on behalf of these businesses and distribute checks to the business owners when they receive payment. The primary focus of these types of banks is making loans to small businesses – for the purposes of expanding their businesses and their customer base.

So what career path will fit my needs best? If your passion is to work directly with a private sector bank, then working in a bank’s trading department is probably a good idea. This will enable you to have direct interaction with a variety of different business activities. As well, the trading environment is relatively stable (with few ups and downs) and should give you the stability you’re looking for.
But what if you enjoy a more international perspective? A career path within international banks could be equally rewarding and exciting. Today, there are more opportunities for graduates to work internationally thanks to globalization. If you enjoy exploring, learning about, and experiencing foreign markets, then working in international banking may be a great career path for you.
