Jotaro Kujo is the protagonist of part three of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Stardust Crusaders, and the third JoJo in the series. He is a major ally in Diamond is Unbreakable and Stone Ocean, and appears briefly in Vento Aureo. Jotaro is therefore the JoJo who appears most often in the series.
Jotaro is a half Japanese delinquent living an ordinary life until the ancestral enemy of Joestar, DIO, returns. While his mother Holy falls ill due to the influence of DIO, Jotaro crosses half of the Earth with his grandfather Joseph Joestar and a group of friends to save Holy and defeat the Vampire once and for all.
Jotaro is a Stand Handler and owns the powerful Star Platinum. He is the best-known character in the series. He is also the father of Jolyne Cujoh, the protagonist of Stone Ocean.
JOTARO AND HIS APPEARANCE
Jotaro is established as a tall, 195 cm (6 ft 5 in), attractive, and muscular young man. He has dark hair that merges with his hat, thick, perpetually frowning brows and green eyes. Because of this, he bears a certain resemblance to his grandfather Joseph Joestar and his ancestor Jonathan Joestar.
STARDUST CRUSADERS
The famous jotaro hat is enhanced with a gold button on the center of the forehead and a rectangular plaque on the left. The hat is torn and shows up as if it blended with Jotaro’s hair. In the case at the beginning the hat and the hair were clearly separated, the border between the two obscures as the series advances. Araki clarifies that he needed to recognize Jotaro from the back as much as from the front, subsequently the hat.
DIAMOND IS UNBREAKABLE
Jotaro changes costume several times during Diamond is Unbreakable. These costumes share a hat and a coat with wide pants, all white.
His first costume consists of a coat with a white folded collar, with the sleeves decorated with the same triangular paving stone as his belts. He still wears a tank top with a diagonal strap on his chest. His hat is decorated with a metallic “J” next to a heart-shaped pine with the palm symbol.
Jotaro wears his second costume during the arc The hunt is on! He recalls his high school uniform with a coat with a rigid collar and a simple shirt. His hat is decorated with pine trees in the shape of dolphins and the sun, and his coat is decorated on the right with a plaque in the shape of two dolphins forming a heart, as well as a pine tree in the shape of a square on the left.
His final costume has a coat with the same sleeves as the first costume. Jotaro wears a thin open cardigan without buttons with a cross and circle motif and a black turtleneck sweater emblazoned with the palm on the collar. His hat is decorated with pins in the shape of the symbols of Venus (♀) with arrowheads and still the palm plate. His belts no longer have patterns and he attached a pocket to them.
