It’s been more than two years, but Simone Johnson is finally preparing for her WWE debut.

The daughter of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson took to her social media platforms, including Instagram and Twitter, on Sunday to announce her new professional wrestling name.

The 20-year-old, who is a fourth-generation World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wrestler on her father’s side, will go by the nickname Ava Raine.

Following in her father’s footsteps: Simone Johnson, 20, daughter of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, announced her new professional wrestling name as she prepares for her long-awaited WWE debut.

To mark the occasion, Johnson posted a picture of her new wrestling name to her Instagram stories.

It was written in thin red letters, with several flashes of white around it, of varying intensity. One of these bolts, in a thicker white, actually runs right through Ava and Raine.

Simone originally signed her contract with WWE in early 2020, but her debut was delayed due to a series of injuries that eventually required surgery and subsequent rehabilitation.

Big reveal: Simone revealed her professional wrestling name is Ava Raine with a photo of white lightning bolts going through the letters.

Lifelong dream come true: The eldest of Dwayne Johnson’s three daughters announced that she had signed with WWE in February 2020, but injuries have delayed her debut.

“First of all, what an honor that my daughter wants to follow in my footsteps, but more importantly, it sounds cliche to follow in my footsteps, but she actually wants to create her own path and walk, which is so important,” Dwayne said of the daughter after her contract was signed in February 2020.

At the announcement, Simone took to Instagram and posted a photo of herself in a gray WWE t-shirt while smiling proudly.

“For the little girl who fell in love with wrestling and said, ‘This is going to be my life someday,’ this is for you. I am humble, grateful and willing to work. Let us do this. @wwe @wwenxt,” she captioned the post.

Proud Dad: “First of all, what an honor that my daughter wants to follow in my footsteps, but more importantly, following in my footsteps sounds cliched but she actually wants to create her own path and follow what is so important,” Dwayne spoke about the daughter after her contract was signed in February 2020.

Making History: When she finally makes her WWE debut, Simone will be the company’s first fourth-generation wrestler, following her great-grandfather “High Chief” Peter Maivia, her grandfather “Soulman” Rocky Johnson, and her father known as The Rock during his time in the ring.

Simone is the first child of Dwayne Johnson and the only child of Dany Gracia, a producer and founder of The Gracia Companies.

The Rock also has two other daughters – six-year-old Jasmine and four-year-old Tiana – who he shares with wife Lauren Hashian.

When she finally makes her WWE debut, Simone will be the company’s first fourth-generation wrestler, following her great-grandfather “High Chief” Peter Maivia, grandfather “Soulman” Rocky Johnson, and her father, who was then known as The Rock of his time in the ring.

Family business: Simone revealed that she knew since she was a child that she wanted to be a professional wrestler; She is pictured with her father in July 2018.
