Angel Hernandez Grado, also known as S2K Wya on Instagram, committed suicide last Wednesday on Interstate 5 near San Diego during hours of pursuit and stalemate with police.
Police were chasing a 28-year-old influencer famous in the car racing world.
The girlfriend said she managed to escape and warn her neighbor after Grado left the apartment.

She told police that Grado had tied her up, sexually assaulted her, strangled her, and struck her head with an ax.
The girlfriend said Grad intended to buy her a gun and threatened to kill her if she called the police.
Hours later, police found a white BMW X5 in Grado on Interstate 5 and tried to detain it.
When he refused, police tracked him along several highways and eventually deployed spike strips to stop him.

The aerial footage obtained by ABC7 showed about 30 police and armored vehicles surrounding Grado’s car on the highway.
The footage showed him pointing his gun at his head many times, saying he loved his little son.
At one point, he said: I just hate my life, brothers. I’m sick of this fucking life.
He also posted a photo with his son before committing suicide.
Police tried to negotiate with Grado for about an hour after telling him that he was armed with a gun.
Officials said Grado tried to drive the car, but was stopped by two armored cars.
He immediately shot his head. Grado was taken to the hospital by emergency, but was confirmed dead.
Grado was a car enthusiast with over 50,000 followers on Instagram.
His girlfriend had a broken rib and was taken to the hospital with a bruise on his face and body.
