Officials say Sergeant Wood has also been transferred to another division within the Sheriff’s Office. Additional action may be taken after the investigation. 

Washoe County Sheriff’s Office says a WCSO sergeant has been placed on administrative leave after being charged with DUI Friday. 

Washoe County Booking shows Sergeant Jason Wood was arrested on Friday and charged with DUI, speeding 1-10 miles per hour over the posted limit, and failing to maintain lane. 

Reno Police Department is investigating. 

Officials say Sergeant Wood has also been transferred to another division within the Sheriff’s Office. Additional action may be taken after the investigation. 

Washoe County Sheriff’s Office released a statement on the incident, saying the office does not condone the alleged behavior.

“Sheriff Balaam has made it very clear that we are a family and are here for one another – meaning we are always one call away.  A phone call to a trusted friend or a rideshare or taxicab for a ride home is always a person’s best option,” the statement said in part.
