Since it debuted in 2010, “Basketball Wives” has continued to be a popular (if not highly rated) television series. During its 10+ years on air, the show has been host to a lot of drama and conflict.

Previously, Tami Roman complained that the show ruined her friendship with Shaunie O’Neal. Fighting is a constant on the show. The drama never ends.

The most recent conflict to come to light? Ogom “OG” Chijindu says she’s experienced a lot of racism and colorism while starring on the show. But this isn’t even the worst part of the story. Continue reading below to learn the details of what transpired when OG came clean about her experiences.

What Happened in “Basketball Wives,” Season Three?

In the most recent episode of the popular VH1 series, Ogom Chijindu (“OG”) spoke out about her experiences with colorism and racism during the previous season. This big reveal was done in a one-on-one chat with co-star Kristin Scott.

At the time, the women were quarantining together in separate houses due to restrictions in place from the COVID-19 pandemic. Although the chat seemed to make headway on this critical topic, OG wasn’t happy when she saw what aired.

What Aired Wasn’t Accurate

The conversation that aired was something very different than what actually happened. During her talk with Kristin Scott, OG appears aloof and defensive about her experiences.

OG took to Instagram, stating she’d been “nice, patient, and accommodating” during the chat. She went on to state she wasn’t sure why it wasn’t shown that way. But this isn’t the only way the star defended herself.

OG released unedited audio of the conversation she had with her co-star. The audio proves Chijindu’s statements on how it actually went down. It also helped her earn a lot of support from the public and former “Basketball Wives” co-stars.

Former “Basketball Wives” Stars Step Forward With Support

Several notable former “Basketball Wives” stars came forward with support for OG. They took to Instagram about the “toxic” behaviors and shared their own stories of racism or colorism while on the show.

Most notable among these former co-stars were CeCe Guiterrez, Tami Roman, and Royce Reed. Alongside these stars, much of the public showed their support on social media also.
