After graduating from college he joined Standard Oil’s tanker office. He left the job after 6 months to join the Marine Corps. Later when he went to pursue MBA, he was discharged from the Marine Corps in June 1973.

It was the turning point of his life when he attended Erhard EST seminars in 1974. 

He founded his first company in 1977, called “Ripper”, which also got featured in Success Magazine and Playboy. But the company got bankrupt due to some reason.

In 1978, he took a job as a salesperson for Xerox. Then he started a retail business that makes, Hat, T-shirts, Wallets, and bags for heavy metal rock bands. This company also went bankrupt in 1980.

In 1985, he co-founded a business education company that teaches investment, entrepreneurship, and social responsibility. The company name was, “Excellerated Learning Institute. He sold this company in 1994.

Kiyosaki published his first book in 1992, called “If You Want to Be Rich and Happy, Don’t Go to School”. This book tells parents not to send their children to school and enter into the real estate business.

Later in 1997, he founded Cash Flow Technologies, INC, a financial and business education company. It owns brands like Rich Dad and Cashflow under this company.
